Six Killed After Helicopter Crashes Into Hudson River

New York, NY – Six people were killed when a tourist helicopter crashed into the Hudson River on Thursday, April 10, 2025. According to reports, Agustin Escobar, a Siemens executive from Barcelona, Spain, his wife Merce Camprubi Montal, and their children, ages 4, 5, and 11, were killed in the crash.

According to the FAA, the Bell 206 helicopter took off from Downtown Manhattan. The flight lasted about 15 minutes before the helicopter broke apart before crashing into the water. Officials say the helicopter hit the water inverted, without a tail rotor or a main rotor blade.

The Jersey City Police Department and NTSB are investigating the crash and what caused the rooters to break apart.
