A pedestrian died and a motorcyclist was injured when a motorcycle struck the man crossing South Bascom Avenue near Fruitdale Avenue in San Jose just before 1:30 a.m. on October 24, police said. Both were taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries, and the motorcyclist was later stabilized.

The crash happened around 5:30 a.m. Debris then hit a Tesla in the northbound lanes, and the Honda driver was hospitalized with major injuries.
