Robert Schreck is the Managing Attorney of the Buffalo, New York office of The Barnes Firm and a seasoned personal injury attorney with more than 20 years of experience representing injured victims throughout Western New York. His practice focuses on car accidents, truck accidents, motorcycle accidents, pedestrian accidents, slip and fall injuries, construction accidents, catastrophic injuries, and wrongful death claims.
In his role as Managing Attorney, he oversees the firm’s litigation efforts in Western New York, bringing a strong commitment to client advocacy. Robert works closely with his team to ensure every client receives personalized attention and aggressive representation.
Robert earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from the State University of New York (SUNY) at Buffalo, graduating Magna Cum Laude. While attending SUNY Buffalo, he served as the St. Joseph’s Collegiate Institute Varsity Rowing Coach and was an oarsman with the West Side Rowing Club. He went on to earn his Juris Doctor from the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Law, where he also served as the St. Joseph’s Collegiate Institute Assistant Varsity Football Coach.
Mr. Schreck began his legal career as a Prosecutor in the Erie County District Attorney’s Office. As an Assistant District Attorney, he sought justice on behalf of victims of crimes within the community. During this time, he discovered that while he had a strong passion for trial work, his greatest motivation came from helping people through some of the most difficult moments of their lives
After leaving the District Attorney’s Office, Mr. Schreck transitioned into personal injury law, recognizing it as the area of practice that best combined his trial experience with his desire to help others. For more than two decades, he has represented individuals and families injured due to the negligence of others, securing compensation for medical expenses, lost wages, pain and suffering, and long-term disability. He finds deep satisfaction in helping families navigate life-changing injuries—whether advocating for a child seriously injured in an automobile accident or ensuring financial stability for families when a loved one is unable to work due to another’s negligence.
In 2003, Mr. Schreck joined the law offices of Cellino & Barnes, and later The Barnes Firm. With the firm’s extensive resources and litigation support, he aggressively pursues maximum compensation for clients injured in serious auto accidents, workplace accidents, premises liability cases, and fatal accidents.
While no monetary award can fully compensate an injured person for their losses, Mr. Schreck and his team are committed to aggressively pursuing every legal option available in an effort to ease at least one of the burdens caused by an injury that was not the client’s fault.
Beyond his legal career, Mr. Schreck is deeply involved in his community. He serves on numerous charitable and nonprofit boards and is a past President of Amherst Youth Hockey, as well as a member of its Hall of Fame. He is also a Lifetime Member of the Western New York Certified Football Officials Association, a former President of the Ronald McDonald House, and a past member of the St. Benedict’s Catholic Church Parish Council. He is a member of the Erie County Bar Association.
