Long Beach, CA – Police in Long Beach are currently conducting an investigation into a fatal collision that occurred over the weekend between a 63-year-old male driver and a motorcyclist. The incident took place at the intersection of Willow Street and Palo Verde Avenue on Saturday, October 14, 2023 at approximately 5:35 p.m.
Upon arrival, law enforcement officers discovered an unconscious male adult motorcyclist who had sustained serious injuries in the crash involving a 2019 Nissan Sentra driven by the 63-year-old driver. The motorcyclist, who was operating a 2021 Harley Davidson, had been traveling westbound on Willow Street before colliding with the Nissan. Preliminary findings from the investigation indicate that the Long Beach resident driving the Nissan failed to yield as he made a turn onto Palo Verde Avenue, resulting in the collision with the motorcyclist. Authorities are examining speed and distracted driving as potential contributing factors to this devastating accident. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
