You have to think very broadly, especially if you’re talking about personal injury. First off, you should say, if you’re not with your attorney when it’s happening or you haven’t discussed it with an attorney yet, you may say and should say, “I am injured.”. That’s all I want to talk about at this time, because you don’t know the extent of your injury until you know. Injuries can change over time. If you tell the insurance company, “My right shoulder hurts,” and that’s it, they’re going to hold you to that. You’ve got to speak in the broadest terms possible or don’t speak at all. I’m injured.
