There’s a lot of laws that apply to trucks in general: there’s federal laws and there’s state laws. Federal law is called hours of service. State law has hours of service at all, which means that truck driver can only drive for a designated period of time before they have to take a rest. So, those regulations are very important to determine if the truck driver was fatigued at the time of the accident. The other regulations that apply, Federal Motor Carrier regulations, deal with maintenance and safety of the actual vehicle, the truck itself. And so, if you have a situation where the trucker loses his brakes, for example, that can really have an effect on why it is that the accident happened. So, those are the ways that you can determine that.
