My name is Cody Christiansen. I grew up in Utah. I’m a country boy from Utah. And when I was probably about 10 years old, my family moved to California, and I grew up on the central coast in the San Los Aispo Santa Barbara area. I’m a family man. I have four kids that I’m passionate about, and they’re very, very active. My wife and I have been married for 24 years. So, the areas that I focus on and have the most experience currently is personal injury and helping people that have been injured in catastrophic accidents.

What made me want to become a lawyer happened years ago. I lived in Brazil for a couple of years. I would see people struggle with legal issues. Part of that was immigration coming to the United States, and part of it was just people that didn’t have the means to defend themselves. I wanted to become a lawyer to help people navigate through a system that a lot of the times seems to be set up to block or to confuse people—good people that legitimately need help.

I was very inspired to kind of take on that role as a protector or a defender to help people. And so, we have our clients that are up against insurance companies, which entirely lack compassion, and they, they can seem like bullies. I’d love to slap down bullies. And so, just the excitement of coming into a fight every day, I’d love that. I love the strategy of it. I love how we can do good work for people in a system that would otherwise just steamroll them. And to be able to see people’s lives change because of the work that we do for them is very rewarding.
