Van Nuys Head-On Collision Causes Fatalities and Injuries

Van Nuys, CA – A tragic incident occurred in Van Nuys on Thursday, June 29, 2023, resulting in the loss of a woman and a young child’s lives. The collision, which took place on Woodley Avenue between Victory and Burbank boulevards around 9 p.m., involved two cars. According to investigators, a white Honda Accord traveling northbound on Woodley Avenue veered into the southbound lanes, leading to a head-on collision with a Honda Civic. Sadly, a woman in her 60s, who was a passenger in the Civic, was declared dead at the scene. Additionally, a child approximately 5 years old, who was properly secured in a car seat, was initially taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition but was later pronounced dead.

The other occupants involved in the crash were also transported to the hospital with undisclosed injuries. Two individuals from the Accord were among those hospitalized, with the driver reported to be in critical condition. As of now, authorities have not provided further information regarding the circumstances that led to this tragic accident.
