Three Killed in I-81 Bus Accident

Dauphin County, PA – Three individuals lost their lives in a tragic accident involving a charter bus and a Honda CRV in Dauphin County, Pennsylvania on Sunday, August 6, 2023 around 11:50 p.m.. The Pennsylvania State Police reported that the collision occurred on Interstate 81 during heavy rain. The bus, carrying approximately 45 to 50 passengers, was traveling south on I-81 when it collided with the Honda CRV, which was stopped within the right lane of the southbound traffic. The impact caused the bus to veer off the road, hit an embankment, and flip onto its side, with the right roof area of the bus colliding with the CRV. The bus ultimately came to a stop on its side along the road.

The Dauphin County Coroner’s Office confirmed that two individuals on the bus and one individual in the Honda were sadly pronounced dead at the scene. Their identities have not been released at this time. The bus was travelling from Canal Street in New York to Ohio.
