Smithtown Head-on Crash Leaves One Dead and One Seriously Injured

Smithtown, NY – A fatal crash occurred in Smithtown on Thursday, June 8, 2023, leaving one dead and another seriously injured. According to police, Michael Bittleman was driving a Nissan on Middle Country Road when he crossed over into the opposite lane and collided head-on with a Mercedes driven by John Zeumer. The incident took place around 9:30 p.m.

Unfortunately, Bittleman did not survive the crash and was pronounced dead at the hospital. Zeumer was rushed to the hospital with severe injuries. The police are still investigating the cause of the accident.
