One Teenager Killed and Five Injured in Port Jefferson Station Accident

Port Jefferson Station, NY – A two vehicle collision occurred on Saturday, March 11, 2023, at the intersection of Nesconset Highway and Woodhaul Avenue. The car crash happened around 9:30 p.m.

According to Suffolk County Police, the driver of a Honda Accord attempted to make a left turn onto Woodhull Avenue when he was struck by a Ford Bronco. One passenger of the Honda, 16-year-old Isaac Ruiz, was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The driver of the Honda, 18-year-old Christopher Ospina, passengers, 16-year-old Jordan Hatal, 15-year-old Joseph Marzano and 17-year-old Alexa Angelis, and the driver of the Ford, 19-year-old Taner Ustaoglu, were also injured in the collision and transported to the hospital. The cause of the crash remains under investigation. Residents of this area report this intersection is very dangerous, especially when making left turns.
