One Fatality and Two Serious Injuries Reported in Hayward Collision

Hayward, CA – According to the California Highway Patrol, a fatal crash occurred around 4 a.m. on Saturday, June 10, 2023, that left one woman dead, and two men injured. The accident involved a 2019 Lincoln MKC and a 2012 Toyota, with the Lincoln being driven by a lone male and the Toyota having a man behind the wheel and a woman in the passenger seat. The two cars had a non-injury crash and were parked in the northbound lanes of I-880, just north of SR-92. The occupants of both cars exited to exchange information when a 2022 Dodge Durango hit all three pedestrians and both parked cars.

The woman in the Toyota passed away at the scene, but the two men were taken to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The Dodge flipped onto the right shoulder without any occupants inside when law enforcement arrived. Early reports suggest that the Dodge may have been racing at the time of the crash.
