Hauppauge, NY – A tragic accident occurred on Long Island Monday, July 3, 2023, resulting in the death of a 25-year-old man. The incident involved a garbage truck colliding with a school bus and three other vehicles stopped at a red light. The crash occurred on Express Drive South in Hauppauge just before 9 a.m. According to authorities, the garbage truck was traveling eastbound when it rear-ended the school bus and the three other vehicles. Sadly, the man in one of the cars involved in the crash was pronounced dead. Two other individuals were transported to the hospital for injuries sustained in the accident, while no one on the school bus was harmed.
