One Dead and One Injured after Oakland Warehouse Roof Collapse
Oakland, CA – One man was killed, and another woman was injured after part of the roof at Peet’s Coffee distribution center collapsed on Friday, March 10, 2023. The collapse happened around 3:15 a.m. at the warehouse on 85th Ave near Railroad Ave.
According to reports, part of the roof collapsed onto the two employees, killing 58-year-old Martin Gonzalez, and injuring another woman. Both victims were employees of the warehouse. The injured woman was transported to the hospital. The cause of the accident is under investigation, specifically if the storms or an excessive load on the roofing system, played a role in the collapse.
