Multiple Injuries Reported After U-Haul Truck Accident

At least eight people were injured after a U-Haul truck went on a violent rampage in Brooklyn, New York on Monday, February 13, 2023, according to New York City Police Commissioner Keechant Sewell. Two of the victims were critically injured, while the remaining six had sustained serious or minor injuries.

The U-Haul had evaded a traffic stop at the intersection prior to the incident and had struck pedestrians, cyclists and one responding police officer at seven different locations in the Bay Ridge neighborhood. According to the NYPD, at least one of the injured individuals was a pedestrian, while three were moped operators. All eight of the identified victims were transported to area hospitals for treatment.
