Multi-Vehicle Crash Causes Multiple Injuries and One Fatality

Calabasas, CA – Officials with the California Highway Patrol and the Los Angeles County Fire Department responded to a fatal, multi-vehicle crash in Calabasas on Monday, January 16, 2023, that closed lanes on both sides of the freeway. Calls about the crash on the 101 Freeway, near Las Virgenes Road, came in at around 9:12 p.m., according to L.A. County Fire.

Tragically, one person died, and two others had to be rescued from their vehicle. The cause of the crash is still under investigation, but it is known that two vehicles overturned and landed on opposite sides of the freeway. CHP is investigating the cause of the crash.
