A recent study found that drivers of cars and trucks, not motorcyclists, are the cause of most motorcycle accidents involving more than just the bike. Anyone injured in a motorcycle accident should have their investigative team evaluate all aspects surrounding the collision. This includes reviewing:
- Blind spots on the vehicle
- All eyewitness accounts of the accident
- Police accident report
- Any testing of the driver for drugs and alcohol
- Any history of the driver with drugs and alcohol
- Phone and texting records of the driver
- Accident history on this road
- Any video evidence of the crash
- Evaluation if road is striped per code
- Inspection of road conditions and signage
All motorcycle accidents can be prevented by paying attention to and following the rules of the road.
