Motorcycle Driver Ejected in Crash
Staten Island, NY – A motorcycle driver suffered serious injuries after being ejected from their bike after colliding with a vehicle. The crash occurred on Forest Avenue near Ordell Avenue around 9:30 p.m. on Friday, April 15, 2022.
According to police, the motor vehicle was attempting to make a left-hand turn into Taco Bell. The motorcyclist attempted to drive around the vehicle, causing the collision. NYPD is investigating the cause of this collision.
A recent study found that drivers of cars and trucks, not motorcyclists, are the cause of most motorcycle accidents involving more than just the bike. Anyone involved in a motorcycle accident should have their investigative team evaluate all aspects surrounding the collision. This includes reviewing:
- Blind spots on the vehicle
- All eyewitness accounts of the accident
- Police accident report
- Any testing of the driver for drugs and alcohol
- Any history of the driver with drugs and alcohol
- Phone and texting records of the driver
- Accident history on this road
- Video from Taco Bell, pool store or funeral home on this corner
- Evaluation if road is striped per code
- Inspection of road conditions and signage
- Inspection of intersection
