I-5 Rollover Crash Leaves 1 Dead

San Diego, CA – A collision between a Ford Ranger pickup truck and a Volkswagen Jetta caused a rollover on Tuesday April 12, 2022, around 10:50 a.m. The crash occurred on I-5 near Coronado Ave.   

According to police, the Ford Ranger veered across the five-lane freeway and collided with the Volkswagen Jetta. The crash caused the pickup to roll and eject the passenger. The 64-year-old passenger was taken to UCSD Medical Center in Hillcrest where she died. The 65-year-old pickup truck driver and 24-year-old car driver were also transported to the hospital with serious injuries.

The victim was identified as 64-year-old Leticia Gutierrez de Ordaz.
