DWI Crash Leaves One Seriously Injured

Dix Hills, NY – A man has been arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated following a serious crash around 5 a.m. on Saturday, January 28, 2023, on the Long Island Expressway in Dix Hills. Sargunvir Sondhi was driving a Mercedes Benz eastbound near Exit 51 when he collided with the back of a Nissan Sentra. The impact caused the Mercedes to flip over.

The Nissan, which was driven by Plainview resident Howard Weitz, was totaled in the accident. Howard was uninjured, but his wife Irene, who was also in the car, was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries. Sondhi himself was unharmed.
