Brooklyn, NY– Two workers were injured on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, after scaffolding collapsed outside a building in Brooklyn. According to reports, the incident happened around 1:50 p.m. at scaffolding located outside of 148 Stuyvesant Ave. in Bed-Stuy. The workers were on the scaffolding when a 20-foot piece of parapet from the building collapsed on top of them. They were trapped under debris for 10-15 minutes before being removed by FDNY. Both workers were transported to Kings County Hospital.
In response to the accident, a complaint involving site conditions endangering workers was filed with the Department of Buildings.
