Manhattan, NY – An accident involving the collapse of a boom truck occurred on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, at 3880 9th Avenue around 2:30 p.m. According to reports, the accident occurred at a construction site for a new 17-story building. The boom truck was lifting a load of plywood when it fell. Five people were injured as a result of the collapse. The Department of Buildings (DOB) is investigating the accident.
