I can definitely applaud the response and assistance I received Labor Day Sunday from The Barnes Firm. Their legal representative (attorney) advised me that my claim may be too late to file. News to me. Apparently in California, malpractice claims must be filed within a year of their occurrence! Personal Injury cases get an extra year, meaning two years. An old law, dating back to 1975, remains in effect today. It also caps MM claims at $250,000! Who knew. I do…. now. To support changing this law, the Barnes representative suggested I vote in the coming September elections. We would all benefit from updating this law to reflect today’s compensatory awards and Stature of Limitations, for both negotiated settlements and jury trials. California should follow suit with most major states. Before I move elsewhere—a state free of so many life inhibiting regulations—I plan to vote MY conscience — you should as well. A little knowledge goes along way!

Don’t let the cheesy commercials (sorry BF LOL) detour you! I had my first car accident mid 2020. Suburban came out of no where and totaled my new S560. Those cheesy commercials 😉 kept singing to me, so I gave them a shot. My initial inquiry was responded to immediately. The attorney Jeff Bodily offered to come to me at my home for our consult. With the Covid panic just starting, I appreciated the willingness to fully accommodate my needs but ultimately I went to their beautiful offices in Downtown San Diego. Easy to find and has parking garage. Our appt was private and completely on point to all precautions, rules and regs for COVID-19.
